A real-time simulation of an ant colony under a queen. Ant colonies have no one in charge. Order comes from below, out of countless small acts of workers feeding one another. Formations places a seeded queen over that society, one of twelve political archetypes, and watches what happens as her workers either herd, copying the crowd, or aid, feeding the neighbour beside them.
The queen speaks. At key moments a short statement, generated live by a language model from her archetype and the state of her colony, types out beside her. No two runs unfold the same way.
